The Flavor Fest Summits are a one day training event in select cities with general sessions and workshops to empower urban leaders with resources, innovation, networking and community. Lunch is provided with registration.

The evening includes a Christian Hip-Hop Concert that is also open to the general public.

It is geared towards church leaders (Pastors, Church Planters, Youth Pastors, Youth Workers, Church staff and lay leaders), non-profit leaders, artists and entrepreneurs. The team from Crossover Church in Tampa lead the summits along with several partners locally and nationally.

SPEAKERS

General Session

  • New York City, famed for birthing hip hop, boasts a lineage of talent like LL Cool J, Run DMC, Nas, and 50 Cent, alongside Christian Hip Hop Pioneer Pastor Richard Ishmael, aka Richie Righteous, and his wife SherryAnn, who lead Church City USA in Queens. Hailing from Guyana but raised in Queens, Pastor Rich fearlessly spreads his faith through music and preaching, gracing networks like TBN and BET. Church City, a vibrant and diverse community in Queens, NY, thrives with its distinctive approach to ministry, drawing a growing congregation. This church loves God, and serves the people in the New York area.

  • Tommy “Urban D.” Kyllonen is the Lead Pastor at Crossover Church in Tampa, Florida. Crossover Church is known for its innovation, music, outreach, and leadership in urban ministry. Pastor Tommy has a passion to help other leaders as he founded Flavor Fest which has trained over 6,000 leaders. Urban D. is an artist that has produced nine albums and an author that has released seven books. He is a content creator, coach and consultant. Pastor Tommy has a huge heart for his community and is co-chair of the Uptown Soaring City Board. He is married to Lucy and has two daughters Deyana and Sophia.

    Typically, urban churches struggle to create effective systems. As a result, many broken people can fall through the cracks. In this workshop, Tommy will share lessons learned and creative ways to establish effective systems that have helped Crossover grow even during the pandemic. This includes creative follow-up for new guests, new givers, and how they’ve grown membership by hundreds that has helped scale outreach efforts and Love Our City.

  • Workshop Title: Rediscovering Spirit-Lead, Gospel-Centered, Creative Discipleship

    Currently, as followers of Christ and leaders in His work, we navigate complex times. Is the Gospel loosing ground or are we primed for deeper Gospel impact in our cities? We will be exploring what simple but Spirit-lead, Gospel-centered discipleship can look like in the global neighborhoods we seek to make impact in- and how each person’s call is creatively prepared by Christ. Specifically we will focus on the power of God’s Word in our ministry, the necessity to obey the Spirit & the peace that comes from knowing who you are in Christ while called to move in his specific purposes.
